HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS BUT NO EXPERIENCE

When your leaving college you have all the courses , terminology , even the anticipation to get right into you career field , you have only been dreaming about it since what ? like maybe the whole four years of school right?
The hard part is landing that job , actually convincing someone “hey , I went to school for like my whole life , I have diplomas , and degrees for this industry , BUT no real world experience , or a paid position , but do you mind hiring me , over that 30 year old guy out there with 10 years experience ?”
This is the most fearful part unless you’re lucky enough to know someone who will guarantee you a job right after graduation. School counselors and Profs Say don’t worry about loans at least for six months later, we will give you time so you can find employment. Here are some steps to better establish a career after graduation.

Step 1: Make a resume even if you have no experience in this field, but you may have had a part-time position working at the deli, or at a grocery store. Explain in details the parts that are relevant to your field, and leave out the parts that aren’t. You see you don’t even have to lie!

Step 2: “This is a very dangerous step, unless you have the funds. “Since you’re in the school mind frame and learning or even not in school why not volunteer fine an internship that is flexible to your time and not too much of it. Tell them you just need a approximately 90 hours of work, and you want it to help build your resume. Who knows you can get references and network. Doesn’t hurt to try what’s the worst their going to do? Say NO! They probably would not anyways, maybe in a nicer way. 

Step3: I know you have a social media account such as : Twitter , MySpace , face book , plenty of fish , msn , aol and etc. these are all social media sites , might as well put up a twitter saying “ looking for a job.” If you don’t put it up there who is going to help. Basically, this step is networking you just have a chat with someone with the same similartties as you. If they can’t help you now at least you know they will keep you mind in the future.

Step 4: I know many of you may be on the web searching craigslist for jobs … DON’T ! For goodness sakes. Not craigslist, unless you want to be a canvasser. Here are some sites if you must use the internet , first things first , try your school career website , than workoplosis , monster , career bridge . there are 1000’s of people who are applying for jobs online daily , so it’s basically a 1/million situation here . Why not going in for information sessions with people who you could really see yourself working for . Going in the physical place show intuitive. Since no one is coming to you ;why not you go to them. I know this seems very time consuming , but it shows you really go the extra mile. Also, trying the online websites try looking for career sites based on helping students finding entry level positions such as career bridge.org , or collegegrad.com. These sites are based on helping student find employers who are willing and able to take them.

Step 5 : If you are out of employment and you are seeing the bills come more than money , maybe you should go into a employment agency and keep applying to jobs don’t stop , there will be something great for you around the corner , its just stuck in between the cracks.
